Lipo is the process carried out to take off excess fats through a suctioning procedure. It mostly removes the fats that do not respond to physical fitness or diets. It is done to the fats around the arms, buttocks, stomach, thighs, and other body parts. The procedure uses a gadget called a cannula, placed under the skin, and intense pressure is applied to the cannula. Liposuction’s main aim is to remove the fat cells from the body permanently. It is used to improve the body back to shape and appearance.

Lipo technology is sometimes done as a treatment for certain conditions. The patient must undergo some tests to verify the conditions so that liposuction can be performed. They include;

  • Lipomas â€“ To remove fatty tumours
  • Obesity – If only it’s leading to some condition in the patient, it helps reduce the weight.
  • Lymphatic edema is a condition where excess fluids in tissues cause swelling. Lipo is used to reduce swelling.
  • Gynecomastia â€“ Lipo removes the increased amount of breast gland tissues on male breasts.

Some of the techniques used in liposuctions vary due to their procedures;

  • Ultrasound liposuction – Here, ultrasound power is used to convert the fat into a liquid later removed from the body.
  • Tumescent technique â€“ This technique involves where a large amount of medical mixture being injected into the fatty body part.
  • Laser lipoplasty- Here, fats are heated to enhance faster removal.
  • Power-assisted lipoplasty – Fats are cut by a tool to make their removal easy.

Liposuction technology has a lot of risks involved. Tissues can get damaged, harmful liquids can get to the organs, and many other risks. Before performing the procedure, the patient should ensure that the dermatologist or the plastic surgeon is well-skilled. This helps to avoid the risks involved after the procedure.
